How To Link Google Ads & Analytics Together

Google Analytics is a vital tool for learning what happens when a visitor is on your site, if you don’t have some form of feedback it is impossible to know what part of your campaign is working or wasting your money. With respect to Google Ads, if you are driving traffic via a campaign and haven’t already linked your accounts together, you may have stumbled on the dreaded “(not set)” when looking for information.

Although this can be due to a variety of reasons, more often than not it is due to Google Ads not being linked to analytics properly.

In the video above I walk you through how this is done. There is a slight complexity with this though, in the above example the email address I am using has access to both accounts at an admin level, if the email address you are using either doesn’t have the right access or doesn’t have access at all, this will not work – you will either need to ask someone else to complete the above steps who does have the correct access, or you will need to arrange your email address be added to right account.

The sooner you do this the better, as the data will not be backdated and the more data you have, the easier it is to optimise.
