I’ll start off with an example, when clients come to our marketing agency I would often ask, what is it about your business which is unique? Often referred to as a unique selling proposition and it’s very rare that a client would have a very good answer to this question.
The reason why I bring it up, is because me to businesses which are just businesses who are doing the same as every other business in that market are probably going to suffer a lot of pain.
A really good question to ask if you’re in business and you’re considering “how do I get a slight edge over a competitor” or “how do I do better in tough times” is something from Dan Kennedy which is why should I do business with you over any and every other option available to me. If you have a really good answer to that question then it basically means that you have a reason why you’re in business and if you have a reason why it’s gonna set you apart from the rest of the market.
