Thomas Green here with Ethical Marketing Service. Today I would like to give you an easy template to apply to your marketing messageif you are in a rush and you just need to get it done.

There are some companies who market by testimonial almost exclusively. Whilst I think that there are some strategies that would improve the response for them, you can do well by emphasising testimonials and having a great offer.

There is no shortage of companies who say you should do business with them. But if you use testimonials it’s proof that someone else has got the result you are after. It’s a lot more persuasive.

The template is:

  1. Prequalifying the person you want with the headline or equivalent.
  2. Describing the product or service and what it can do for them.
  3. Providing proof that someone else has been happy with your proposition.
  4. An offer where you reverse the risk for them with a call to action.

Prequalifying helps with who you want as a customer and who you don’t want. If you are promoting luxury, that will turn people off who are interested in cheap. If you are promoting low prices, that’s not too appealing to people with money.

Describing the product or service is not difficult. As most know their own business pretty well. But adding what it will do for the prospect with each feature is something highly necessary, but not very often done.

The more detail about the person who is quoted in the testimonial, the better and if there are any which speak to what your potential prospect wants, that also helps.

In the offer, you can tie it back into the testimonial. Which I will show you in my example. The call to action is needed because it highlights what people should do next if they want to go ahead.

To summarise, your template is a four step process where you identify who it’s relevant to. Tell them what you have and how it can help. Provide your proof and then make it appealing to them with an offer and tell them what to do next.

If I was using this template for my business, it would be:

“If you are a business owner and would like to grow your business, we offer digital marketing services to serious businesses to help you get more customers and make more sales. Don’t take our word for it, here is proof from one of our happy clients:
