Your prospect doesn’t know anywhere near as much about your product or service as you do, but there are some things that they do know, which you can use to explain it to them in an instant.

This is a way you can condense your long form sentences to make the image immediately clear to them.

I was once attempting to explain the way that a landing page should be structured and that it should all be built with a specific purpose in mind. I planted the image of a supermarket and how when you go to checkout, the supermarket place impulse buys at the end on purpose so shoppers buy extra stuff as they wait. A better explanation might have been if you have ever been to a theme park and finish a ride, you have to exit through a gift shop.

There is a reason they make you do it that way and if you structure a landing page properly, it will pull in results like sending people through the gift shop at the end of the ride.

To make your prospect see it as clearly as you see it, they need to be able to visualise it so clearly, that they can build it piece by piece in their own mind, like putting together the pieces of a puzzle.

The mind thinks in images and the prospect adds to the image, using their own imagination.

Have you ever tried to explain something to someone multiple times and they still don’t get it and yet you used the same explanation many times to others and they understood just fine?

The person who doesn’t understand, cannot see in their mind what you mean and because in marketing, you don’t have the back and forth that you would sitting across from someone, you need to ensure that your explanation is clear for everyone.

The ability to do that is perhaps one of the most important factors in a successful site, as it means describing your proposition in terms of things the visitor knows. 

Before you can get a sale, it must be made in your prospects mind. The combined result of which will be to make them want the thing you are offering, more than the money it costs them.

The method of this lies in choosing something with which they are familiar, and adding to it.
